As they were leaving, the refugees would often see their land and property burning, as the Russian army set fires carrying out the tsar\u2019s order to burn the land (the Russian army was trying to escape the German army front). Bezhenstvo meant many months of wandering through the vast Russian territory, in unknown places, on foot, on peasant wagons or Russian trains. And the motif of the train was the key inspiration for me \u2013 it gave birth to the idea make the plot of \u201cBezhency. Exodus&#8221; take place outdoors, during the journey on a train, with stops along the railway, where the spectators would encounter the scenes from the history of bezhenstvo. Exodus&#8221; mixes theatre with performance, typical scenes with symbolic ones. It includes artistic installations, actors\u2019 improvisations, and historical variations. The theme of bezhenstvo is unknown to the wider public, however it is a part of our heritage and we have to talk about it, remind ourselves about it, because it is our duty to remember it. The events of 1915 affected around 5 million people and are still relevant today, just as violence, war and its consequences are still relevant. Among them 10 thousand sick with infectious diseases: cholera, typhoid, typhus, smallpox etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>62 thousand people<\/strong>, mainly the refugees from Mazovia, passed through the border post in Sieniawka by 23 August 1915; it was just the beginning of the mass exile.<\/li>\n<li><strong>1526 dead<\/strong> refugees were found and buried near the station of Minsk by sanitary troops (September-October 1915)<\/li>\n<li><strong>400 train cars<\/strong> with 20 thousand refugees left from Minsk between October and November 1925.<\/li>\n<li><strong>500 thousand people<\/strong>, including 20 thousand children, were found in the period between the summer of 1915 and the spring of 1917 thanks to the actions of the Central Records Office of the Tatiana Committee.<\/li>\n<li><strong>4 thousand found children<\/strong> only knew their first name<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.29.3&#8243;
