Zainteresowa\u0142y si\u0119 tym tekstem dwa najwa\u017cniejsze teatry w Moskwie: Teatr Meyerholda i MChAT Konstantego Stanis\u0142awskiego. W obu rozpocz\u0119\u0142y si\u0119 pr\u00f3by \u2013 premiera nie odby\u0142a si\u0119 w \u017cadnym. “Na generaln\u0105 pr\u00f3b\u0119 u Meyerholda przyby\u0142a nieoczekiwanie komisja wysokiego szczebla. Spektakl zdj\u0119to.” Interwencje u samego Stalina, kt\u00f3re czyni\u0142 Stanis\u0142awski, sko\u0144czy\u0142y si\u0119 niepowodze\u00adniem. Nie mog\u0142o by\u0107 inaczej, skoro to w\u0142a\u015bnie Stalin zabroni\u0142 jego wystawienia. Po\u00admimo to, zar\u00f3wno “Samob\u00f3jca”, jak i wcze\u015bniejsza sztuka Erdmana – “Mandat”, ob\u00adros\u0142y legend\u0105; kr\u0105\u017cy\u0142y w drugim obiegu, a co celniejsze kwestie sta\u0142y si\u0119 znanymi powiedzonkami. Premiery \u201dSamob\u00f3jcy\u201d odbywa\u0142y si\u0119 w teatrach Europy Zachodniej ju\u017c pod koniec lat sze\u015b\u0107dziesi\u0105tych, natomiast prapremiera rosyjska – dopiero w 1982 r. w Moskiewskim Teatrze Satyry, kt\u00f3ry wtedy przywraca\u0142 teatrowi i publiczno\u00ad\u015bci radzieck\u0105 dramaturgi\u0119 obj\u0119t\u0105 wcze\u015bniej zakazami cenzury. Odby\u0142o si\u0119 jednak tyl\u00adko pi\u0119\u0107 przedstawie\u0144 i ponownie zakazano grania.
