15-year old Ada disappears while on vacation with her parents. A dramatic search ensues. Ada – alive or dead – is not found. On the anniversary of her disappearance, her father returns to the place where she disappeared, and starts searching for her again. There are new clues and new suspects. Is it Kajetan Rybak, a businessman living next to the Viper’s Den summer resort, who desperately wants to take over the place? Or maybe Old Reed, a disliked freak whit a personal sense of justice that he himself administers to others? Or maybe his grandson, Damian, who spent a lot of time with Ada, wooed her, and who after her disappearance had a cut lip, and threw up from fear? This second search for the teenage girl brings to light the problems of her parents’ marriage – a couple that’s been unhappy for years. Little by little we discover a brutal truth about a seemingly normal family, about distorting reality, and staying together despite secretly hating each other.
