The fifth season. Five plots. Five different stories. Stories about women. Women who love blindly, like Maria, who loses her head for a married man; women who are lied to, like Maya, who while expecting a child loses sight of her marriage; or like Sarah, who takes her first steps in the post-divorce reality. But also stories about men. Although rarely protagonists, they are present all the time. Loved, unwanted, strong and weak. For a moment and forever. In the spring, summer, fall, and winter. And in the fifth season, which is the beginning of everything.
From the author: this is my first novel and one of the first longer narratives that I wrote at the time when the thought of writing as a way of expressing myself only started to germinate in my mind. It could well be called “early Łukasińska”, and when I re-read the book after the years I am touched and moved, but also ashamed a bit, because I know that I wouldn’t write a book like this nowadays. I don’t know if it’s because of wisdom or fear. Maybe both.
