Radio adaptation of the novel „Homo Faber” by Max Frisch.
The engineer Walter Faber sets out on a journey from the USA to France. On the cruise he meets a young woman named Elisabeth and starts flirting with her. The couple meets again in Paris, from where they go together to Italy, and then Greece. Near Corinth Elisabeth gets bitten by a snake. Walter takes her to a hospital in Athens where he meets Hanna – the mother of the girl, and his old-time friend. Elisabeth dies despite having received a serum injection. Hanna tells Walter that Elisabeth was his daughter.
